Hi I am the only person with issues with the management of the Qld Ambulance Service ????
My husband 'John' retired from the QAS with work-related PTSD, over fifteen months ago. Before, during and after his retirement, he tried to make complaints, but all have fallen on deaf ears. On medical advice, I took over the fight to get the truth out of the QAS. I am an EX Qld Police Officer & the QPS taught me well, about PTSD, how to investigate complaints, record evidence and how to be patient.....
The QAS managers involved in Johns case deliberately acted outside of QAS policy & procedure, a later Internal Review agreed, so John's complaints were ligitimate and not frivilous.
In the last 15 months we have been playing 'pass the parcel', due to the transition into Q Health. But I haven't lost sight of the 'parcel' and I'm not out of the game yet !!
The QAS managers have a long tradition of bullying paramedics, they do NOT support them. I have spoken to a few other paramedics and some of their stories are horrifying. Paramedics are currently having to cope with bullying and saving lives in the same shift, seem fair to you ???? Sadly all of the paramedics I spoke to are to afraid to complain further, they are scared they'll loose their jobs, or get bullied MORE. And the situation is deteriorating under Q Health.
I'm willing to stand up to the QAS, is there anyone out there who feels them same ?
